What the labels mean

- Estimate: An approximate range — assumptions are shown.
- Professional guidance: Information to organize and take to your veterinarian — not a verdict.
How we escalate

- Professional advice recommended: Book a non-urgent veterinary appointment.
- Monitor with red flags: Watch for the specific red flags listed and escalate if they appear.
- Routine decision: You can act on this at your own pace.
What we never do
- Diagnose an illness.
- Give a medication dose.
- Tell you a “safe amount” of a toxin — grapes, xylitol, chocolate, onion, and the like go straight to poison-control guidance.
- Clear an emergency as “fine, no vet needed.”
- Decide end-of-life timing for you.
Which sources we trust
Rules come only from Tier 1–2 authorities (government, veterinary associations, vet schools, poison-control bodies, peer-reviewed guidelines). Community posts (Reddit, Quora, forums) tell us what owners ask — never what the answer is.
